Tefalipitya Farmers Trophy Staff - Senufo People, Ivory Coast

We just got a gorgeous Senufo cultivator trophy staff with a custom metal stand. It is not terribly old; however, it is beautifully carved. A client of ours in La Jolla has down-sized and regretfully, she did not have space for this and a beaded Dinka corset (the corset sold already and was used in an inspirational role in Black Panther 2 - Wakanda Forever!) It is approximately 6' -6'1".

This senufo staff consists of a tapering metal-tipped shaft with carved figures. The staff honored the champion cultivator, the man who had proven himself a strong and reliable leader within a kinship group.
It was carried to ceremonies and for work in the field. The sculpted figures represent a pitya- a young unmarried woman at the peak of her physical beauty. The figure promises a beautiful wife, abundant harvest, many children and prosperity.
