The Yaka are found in southwestern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and number about 300,000.
Yaka statues do have an upturned nose as a common characteristic.
Prestige objects such as adzes, were carved specifically for the chiefs and were kept by them.
Used to be carried over the shoulder, when visiting lineage members.
The figure shows signs of repair, and is priced accordingly.
