Carried during Shango cult ceremonies, the top of the wand with symmetrical triangular forms, symbolizing thunder bolts, and sculptural faces in front and back, each bearing domed headdress, large rimmed eyes, and facial scarification. The double axe motif represents the Shango deity, the God of Thunder.
