Sammy Pasto’s two great loves were art and music. He actually began his career as a musician and played jazz clarinet professionally. Pasto’s knowledge of both fields allowed him to create art as he would music. The lyricism of his lines suggest a musical perspective, and musical instruments often appeared in his paintings. There is an unmistakable sense of rhythm and melody in his creations. Playful abstracted figures suggest court jesters, medieval musicians, and mythical personages. His vibrant glowing works convey a spirit of magic and mystery. Sammy Pasto was an intuitive & emotional painter. Choices about form, color, composition and subject were made as the composition developed. He worked in both pastels and oils, and his colors were prismatic & sensuously blended into one another. Pasto referred to his work as “Contemporary Cubism”.

Includes a small booklet on Sammy Pasto and his artworks.(See Photo).
