The distinctive head in the
center of this decorative mask/
shield is modelled after
their Kifwebe mask. Such
shields were hung on the
walls of the huts where the
Kifwebe masks were stored.
It is unlikely that they were
used for combat, but rather
served a symbolic purpose.
