Large Amber Strand (JL57)

Large antique amber strand held together with fiber cord. No clasp.

For thousands of years, amber has been valued for its amuletic and medicinal properties. It is highly regarded throughout West Africa for its color and trade value. As recently as 30 years ago amber beads were still being used in bride pur chases. One large bead was worth 4 cows.
