The Kabongo mask was used in ceremonies
at the end of initiation. Its conical
shaped eyes with small holes resemble
those of a chameleon, sybolizing the
ability to see and read the invisible, and with the ability of a chameleon to see forwards and backwards
it is believed that they can see the past and the future.
