The Baule people of the Ivory Coast produce some of the finest art in West Africa. They are noted for decorating their everyday objects. This flywhisk features carved janiform faces, leather wrapping, and animal hair. This is a fine example of the aesthetic quality a utilitarian item often receives throughout Africa.
