Ghanaians have been trading with gold
since the 15th century. The gold was
weighed on simple scales, against weights
of standard value. Most goldweights were
cast in bronze using the lost wax method.
This goldweight measures 1 1/4" in length, 1" wide, and 1/4" thick.
