With hand-forged sterling silver combined with collected,
valuable shell currencies, this adornment takes on a unique, rustic
aesthetic. From Papua New Guinea, these conus shells - referred to as
'women's money' - were once used as a primitive form of currency. They
were traditionally strung on a fiber cord, used as a form of exchange for
other goods or services and even used as a bride price. Dangling from
a silver hook, this cluster of shells has been transformed to a beautiful
contemporary, ethnic piece of jewelry. The hook will securely hook onto
most any cord, wire or chain.
Leather cords sold separately.
Dimensions: 4" H x 2" W x 1" D;
