We acquired this piece through an excellent collector, however cannot find any other piece quite like it. We believe it to be from the area of the D.R. Congo inhabited by the Lega, Lengola and Metoko peoples, among others. It does have some attributes of sculpture from the Mossi people too.
Either way, it is powerful figure with a commanding presence.
It was purchased as a Lega piece in 1996 for $1320.
