The Ogoni, a group related to the Ibibio, live
in the Eastern Delta area near the Imo, Opobo
& Cross Rivers near the Cameroon border. This
mask is relatively small & probably would have
only covered half of the face, with a simple
mechanism to allow the wearer to move the jaw
for use in ritual performances for funerals &
when yams were planted & harvested.
There is a repair to its right side.
