Nahash, Hebrew for "snake", is also associated with
divination, including the verb-form meaning to
practice divination or fortune-telling. The snake is
symbolic of both evil power and chaos as well as a
symbol of fertility, life and healing. The snake represents
the ìother worldî of the ancestral spirits,
as well as dreams, which, have visionary import
for the dreamer and events in the dreamer's life.
After the diviner has ingested special plants and
roots the diviner will have vivid and prophetic
dreams.
