Borana Basket # 7850 - Ethiopia - Sold

This watertight basket was tightly woven of twine and then steeped with fat or resinous gum, and decorated with metal wire. Such vessels held milk to be offered to guests or kept for special occasions. The leather strap is broken. 13" x 7" diameter.
