Melanie has searched the far reaches of the globe for over thirty years seeking authentic artifacts, as well as unusual beads, stones, natural materials and interesting shapes. Melanie has a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin and further studied at the Chicago Art Institute.

This necklace consists of bone elements strung on Heishi and bronze beads from Niger. The bone artifacts were used by the shamans of Nigeria. The cord measures 16" end to end. The largest of the bone elements measures 2.25" long.
