Unfortunately the cape that this was originally attached to was so deteriorated, but we were able to salvage the main part, which is the beadwork.The cape itself is a most unusual garment that the Ndebele would wear, so it must have belonged to someone of a high status.
As with all old beadwork like this that was worn, it is priced as is for obvious reasons.
