We have included a photo of how these would have originally been worn back then.
They are rare.
The "coins" were individually hammered into shape by the jeweler, then strung on a hand spun wool cord using the central hole in each "coin".
They were attached to the ends of plaits in the Akka oasis. Some were even hung on the temples in Agadir.
Each piece is graduated in diameter from ¾" - ⅞" (2 cm-2.25 cm).
