This type of anklet, surmounted by a
crested bird head, is worn by Bwa women
during ceremonial dances of the Dwo mask, or mask of leaves, the mask being a representation of the crested bird. Cast by the
lost wax process from aluminum recycled
from plane wrecks during and after WW11.
