This is a handmade tribal hide container with wood stopper reminiscent of horns, from Kenya. The
container was primarily used for butter churn/fat container. The hide would be from a camel. The
Turkana are semi-nomadic pastoralists who live in northern Kenya and herd camels. This bottle
reflects the Turkana traditional survival skills and displays the great craftsmanship necessary to
make this item with materials and objects found locally.
