Beautifully carved wooden vessels are
used by the Nupe people to collect beans
nuts and grains. They are carried over the
back using a rope through the handle
to carry it. The Nupe people have lived
along the banks of the Niger River since
the 15th century.Their art is mostly
utilitarian.
