The Mangbetu used the Trumbash to cut
trees to prepare the land for farming
and prepare the wood for construction.
If necessary, the Trumbash could be used
as a lethal weapon in battles between the
Mangbetu & Azande. Today, it has become
a peaceful work weapon.
