Material: Bohemian glass feather beads, Nigerian Eja beads,
bronze super beads and a bronze pendant
People: Nuna
Country: Burkina Faso
Description:
Diviners wore bronze pendants and would
prescribe a small brass pendant to be worn by a client
to secure the blessings of the spirits. The crescents with
the ends turned down were meant to protect the wearer
from disease. Accompanying this lost-wax casted pendant,
are a variety of old trade beads: Bohemian glass feather
beads, Nigerian Eja beads and small bronze super beads.
Strung together in a contemporary way, these traditional
elements creatively come together in a beautiful display.
