Description:
Created sometime between the 13th and 15th centuries, and excavated in the early 20th century, the primary reason for the survival of this piece is the permanence of the material - Terracotta. There were various groups inhabiting the Inland Niger Delta area centered around the ancient town of Djenne.
Dimensions: 8"high by 22" wide by 10" deep
Provenance: Ex. collection of gentleman who lived in the D.R. Congo between 1955 - 1973.
