A bell such as this, was used by a
diviner to call upon the spirits from the ancestral
realm. This particular bell has been hand-forged
from bronze and embossed with circular patterns
and decorated with a pair of chameleons. People
say the chameleon has both knowledge that reaches
back to the mysterious beginnings of the world and an
awareness of unpredictable and malevolent forces
at work in the present.
