The oldest piece we have by far.
Possibly used to "tap" or "declutter" cotton of its seeds and turn it into soft, weavable fibers. This piece is likely from Africa as it was attained by a well provenanced African dealer and collector. The beautiful "female" form makes this piece ideal for the collector of ethnic or tribal arts.
