This magnificent old shield is from the Boiken people of the Sepik region of Papua New Guinea. It dates from the early 20th Century and measures 52" tall, 22.5" wide, and 8" deep. When displayed on the included custom made stand, the shield reaches a height of 57.5".

This early 20th century war shield is from the
Koiken area in the hills behind the Weak in
the Sepik Province. The wood is incised with
abstract designs to protect in times of war. A
shield such as this one, will make a fine addition
for collectors of Oceanic art.
Included is a custom-made metal stand. With the stand
the shield measures 57 1/2" height.
