The 'Afenatene' is structurally distinct. Very long, and characterized by blunt, openwork, wrought iron blades, that negate their use as weapons. The shaft of the blade is worked into a knot. Afenatene serve a purely ceremonial role, and the hilt is similar to the Ashanti linguist staffs.
